Priti Patel likely to face ‘robust criticisms’ in bullying allegations investigation

A long-awaited investigation into allegations of bullying by Priti Patel must be published without delay, Labour has demanded as it labelled reports that the Home Secretary will be issued with a warning as “incredibly serious”.

The Financial Times said that the probe would be concluded “imminently” but that Boris Johnson would only issue Patel with a written warning, rather than dismissing her from the Cabinet.

Citing unnamed Whitehall officials, the paper said the prime minister was intending to “fudge” the outcome of the report which has “robust criticisms” of Patel’s behaviour.

Shadow home secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds said: “Reports that the Home Secretary is to receive a written warning for conduct in government are incredibly serious.

“The role of Home Secretary comes with huge levels of responsibility and trust. It is now vital that the full report is published without delay, so the public can have full confidence in the decision-making process.”

Downing Street did not immediately respond to requests to comment on the reports.

A Cabinet Office investigation was launched in March over allegations that Patel belittled colleagues and clashed with senior officials in three different departments, but the result of the probe has yet to be revealed.

Philip Rutnam, who was the home office’s permanent secretary, quit earlier this year, accusing Patel of a “vicious and orchestrated briefing campaign” against him and is claiming constructive dismissal at an employment tribunal.

Patel has expressed concern at the “false” claims, and allies have described her as a “demanding” boss but not a bully.

Earlier this week the former head of the civil service Lord Sedwill told MPs the investigation was now “with” the prime minister.

What was she doing in Israel on her undeclared visit in the previous gov’t? This act of connivance in the zio entity should have disqualified her from ever sitting in gov’t. Clearly a person of dubious character.

When she was under Ms May Tory Govt rule did she get the sack
because she tried to make her own army up out of taxpayer money pot
So Ms May dragged her ASS back to U.K. then kicked her out of her Minister job
Ms Petal should not be in any Govt post or job now a fact.
I ask myself what as she got on Boris(dirty information possibly )
for him to let her off the hook plus go against the decision she
    broke parliament rules again????
1-Time under Ms May—2-Time under Boris
how long is Tory Party going to put with her miss using her power
as a Govt representative within Govt job
Voter will not forget Ms Petal second time of braking of Govt
plus parliament rules again come next G.E. Boris Tory party could lose power

“The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.”
